Description

So, the other day I was flipping through an old binder full of ancient pencil and ink drawings I had done when I first started drawing anthro characters. I had a lot of simple sketches and ideas as how characters would appear and what sort of style each character would portray themselves with. On most the clothing styles well...needed more research. Feeling the creative urge slowly eek back through me, I grabbed a small sketch pad and actually started re-drawing a good number of these original sketches. I suddenly found myself on a drawing streak and in two days had seven or eight small sketches all ready for linearting. Due to their small size, the linearting is pretty thick with these, yet that's how I was able to crank so many out so quickly.

I started with this lug. Dodger, from Oliver & Company. He used to play a rather sizable role in my AU back in the early days (Mostly thanks to :iconpaxaeternum: Aka, the artist formerly known as Steamby51. He made sure Dodger and Rita were well represented!) For the re-draw, I chose darker colors for his patched coat and trousers, while keeping lighter colors for his cotton shirt to better blend into his fur colors. Of course, it's not Dodger without his bandana.

Dodger is a streetdog if there ever was one. Living his life carefree and floating from job to job. Highly intelligent, he has a charisma that he can use to his advantage. Swooning the ladies, or convincing a hapless gentleman just how much he needs that wonder tonic that only the Dodge can sell. However he can verge on arrogance at times, and he definitely has a lot of bravado.

One may want to check their pockets after bumping shoulders with this one.

Oliver and Company is my fave Disney movie! This is one of the best renditions of anthro Dodger I've seen!
